The God who made this sunset knew it would last but a moment! He made it anyway. He realized people would see this beautiful scene and immediately forget. He knew others wouldn’t pay attention. He knew some would see the beauty and remember and others would see the beauty, savor it and realize from where it came. Best of all, he knew some would believe he made this sunset for them out of pure love and love him back in return.
I, by the grace of God, am one of those people who believe he makes the sunset out of love for us. Furthermore, I believe he, who holds the power of the sun in his hands, gives us power and grace to overcome all of our trials, adversities, and struggles and to do all he has called us to do each and every day.
Unfortunately, I, being at times, like those not remembering the sun or even noticing it, behave in ways that don’t show my belief in GOD. I act as if he isn’t there waiting and I don’t pay attention or heed him. How foolish I am when I forget the majesty of the Lord as revealed in this sun and turn my own way when his power is readily available, more miraculous than this sun, and far surpassing any of my ways. How silly of us of to trust in ourselves when this GOD is waiting to help and we only need ask.
This God is a God we can rely on. This GOD wants to help us. This God has a call on your and my life. This God is where to turn at all times. This God can always and in all ways be trusted. So lets not forget to turn to THIS GOD. After all, he reminds us of himself each day, in may ways, including by the setting of the sun!
So I wish I had thought sooner to ask chef to do a wellness challenge with me. We’re both getting more and more into the challenge each and every day. Now, we’re researching healthy ingredients and thinking of all sorts of alternative, healthy ideas for things we consume regularly as well as for classes at our Wellness Center. It’s so much fun having my husband and best friend also be my partner at work and wellness as well as nemesis for writing this blog. It’s like we’re on an adventure we never planned and we’re loving it.
Speaking of adventures…..Our current challenge is to make a number of drinks that satisfy the soda cravings which we have realized is the craving for either fizz or caffeine. We have come up with a few ideas like 100 percent juice mixed with seltzer and homemade lemon lime soda. We are going to make both and I’ll let everyone know the scoop.
Speaking of scoops, yesterday was a busy day filled to the brim with planned and unplanned things. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the day, we managed to enjoy some steamed shrimp with a garden salad topped with sundried tomatoes/ mozzarella, hold the dressing.
We also managed to fix the boat, hold an open house, grocery shop, go to church, and see our friends band play.
Which brings us to today’s plan. Due to yesterday’s planned and unplanned adventures, today’s plan is to take God at his word and REST, LOL. Oh, and figure out how to get a theme for this blog that allows lots of pictures. One or two pictures isn’t cutting it for posting recipes and traveling adventures. Any direction or ideas on this blog theme from fellow bloggers is greatly appreciated. Wish me luck!
Okay everyone. We just completed day 2 of our Wellness challenge and here’s the nItty gritty.
For breakfast, chef made Huevos Rancheros without the tortilla’s using eggs, feta, avacado, black beans, tomatoes, cumin, sea salt, and black pepper. We had agreed to use rye but forgot the rye so Chef put this dish over brown rice. It was delicious and we didn’t feel deprived at all.
Through the day we drank iced tea with lemon and no sugar and water infused with basil and pears.
Lunch was a garden salad with potatoe salad made with Greek yogurt, not mayo, and we actually liked it better than traditional potatoes salad. So far so good.
Dinner was healthy lasagna made with no pasta. It was simply divine and the ingredients were a lean, white turkey marinara meat sauce over zucchini, squash, carrots and onion with parmesan cheese. The flavor was unexpectedly AMAZING.
We’re allowed two healthy snacks a day and only opted for one…..popcorn.
We weren’t 100 percent on target as one soda was consumed by each of us, diet version……Some habits die hard!
